Cabo 2021
Cabo 2021
Thursday, March 18
We left Logan at 8:30am and drove to my dad’s work to drop our car off. We got a tour of his work and then he drove us to the airport. The airport was crazy! There were so many people. I don’t blame them or us for wanting to travel after the year we’ve all had. Every process of the airport took forever. Checking our bags. Security. My bag got pulled aside because I had medication in it. Then we went and saw the new Sky Club and it’s huge! We got some snacks and then our flight started boarding so we went to our gate. We got upgraded to first class so we were the last to board because of the COVID rules. The flight was like two hours and forty minutes and we both watched Tenet. It sucks having to wear a mask the entire flight. And getting first class doesn’t even matter because they don’t give out soda or real snacks. They give you a snack box and a bottle of water. Which is still great! But not what it used to be. After the flight, we waited at customs which took a while. But what was crazy was we never got asked one thing about COVID. We didn’t get our temperature checked or anything. At the very end we filled out a questionnaire that asked where we’ve been the last fourteen days and that was basically it. Once we got out of customs and got our bag we walked into a room that was full of people trying to get us to use their transportation. We almost made it through the whole room without anyone talking to us but at the very end a guy stopped us and asked if we needed transportation (which we did) so he led us to a desk where he introduced us to Johnny. Johnny gave us this whole shpeel about how he doesn’t make commission off of us booking activities through him and all he needed us to do was go to this timeshare breakfast thing at his hotel and then he would make a commission but then he proceeded to get us to book two activities with him plus transportation plus this breakfast timeshare. Jeff and I aren’t good at saying no and being undeterred haha we need to work on that. He booked us for breakfast the next morning and said that we needed to meet him at the road and he would take us to breakfast at his hotel. He gave us a receipt of everything and said to not show anyone the paper or else they would take credit and he would lose his commission. So we paid $210 for an ATV tour, wave runners for an hour, and transportation to and from the airport. So he got us into a taxi and sent us off to our hotel. We landed in San Jose Cabo and so we had to drive forty minutes to Cabo San Lucas. Once we got to the hotel Santiago met us at the door and grabbed our bags, brought us a Pepsi, and took us to the check-in desk. Olivia checked us in and gave us a complimentary upgrade for my birthday (we could tell they say that to everyone but we actually paid for the things we got haha). She gave us a bracelet that acts as our key to our room which is super cool! We got a gold bracelet. The black bands get you into everything and the blue bands don’t get you as much so we are right in the middle. After we got checked in Santiago sat us down and showed us a virtual tour of the property and showed us the website that could show us all of the menus for the restaurants, what the spa offers, a map of the property, and basically anything you would need! Then he asked how we got to the hotel and what company brought us and we didn’t know ha I tried to avoid bringing out the paper Johnny gave us but Santiago wouldn’t drop it and kept asking (again, not very good at saying no haha) so I grabbed the paper and Santiago asked to see it ha and he did exactly what Johnny said. He was like you already chose our hotel so to save you from having to travel all of the way to another hotel, we will honor everything on this card here for free. So we caved. Because we really didn’t want to go to another hotel haha so we set up breakfast for the next morning and we went to our room. We sat on the balcony for awhile and took in the view. We have an amazing view! It overlooks the whole property and the ocean. We seriously can see WHALES from our balcony. Then we unpacked and changed and wandered around the property. There are three pools and a bunch of restaurants and a spa and amazing views! And all food and drinks are free. We went and got a drink at the Whale Watching Bar and looked out for whales. We were trying to waste time until dinner at 6. Once 6pm hit we went to Emiliano’s Osteria for dinner. Italian food isn’t great in Mexico. Just FYI. I got chicken parmesan and it was not great ha after dinner we walked around some more. We went down to the beach and wandered around and then eventually we went back to our room and watched The Lucky One and went to bed early.
Friday, March 19
We got up at 10am and went to breakfast at Don Diego. Then we had to meet in the lobby so we could do our timeshare thing and get that over with and then book our activities. We booked our COVID tests for when we’re leaving and then we booked transportation to the airport when we’re leaving and then this lady walked us around the property and tried to sell us a spot with their resort. We kept telling her we weren’t interested but she kept trying ha finally after 90 minutes she realized we weren’t budging so she took us to the activities desk and left us ha we finally said no and I’m proud of us haha at the activities desk we booked our ATV tour for my birthday and the wave runners for Monday. We went to our room and changed into our swimsuits and headed to the pool. We grabbed a towel from the towel stand and grabbed some chairs in the sun. It was so nice! We ordered a margarita and a strawberry daiquiri. The strawberry daiquiri was super good! We got in the pool for a while and then sat in the hot tub. The hot tub was like bath water temperature so it was perfect. Then we laid out and chilled. It was awesome. After drying off we went and got pizza at the pizzeria. It tasted like tomato sauce on a tortilla ha everyone was saying how great the pizza was so we were excited but it wasn’t great. After we ate our pizza we went down to the beach and laid under a bamboo umbrella and read our books. While we were reading we kept hearing this slapping noise and so we sat up and stingrays were jumping out of the water! It was crazy! We read for a while and then we wandered around the property. We found a hidden jacuzzi with a great overlook and we found the spa and scheduled a massage for my birthday. Then we went to our room and changed and then we went to the beach to watch the sunset. We found an area where sea turtles lay their eggs which was cool. There were a couple of cages set up but we couldn’t tell if eggs were there or not ha once the sun went down we went to the Agave Restaurant and ate dinner. My meal was way good! The asparagus was so delish. After dinner we went back to our room and did a blind taste test of the beer in our fridge. It was DISGUSTING. So that was a horrible idea. We knew it would be. Then we watched The Invisible Man and went to bed.
Saturday, March 20
ITS MY BIIIIIIIIIIRTHDAY!!!!! We had to get up at 8am in order to be downstairs in time for our ATV tour with Picacho Adventures. Our minivan came and picked us up and we drove up north for about thirty minutes. When we were driving through town I saw a shirt that said keep calm you’re on the fun side of Trump’s wall hahaha I thought that was hilarious haha We were in a group with just one other group of 6. They met each other in college and go on trips together. They were awesome! Andrea, KiKi, Alisha, Shaniqua, Faith, and Patrick :) once we pulled into the place, we had to fill out some paperwork and then we got onto our four wheelers. Jeff and I each had our own. Then we followed one tour guide (Bruno) in a single file line and the other tour guide (Cesar) was at the back. It was a very slow process for the first little while. The people in our group were scared of the terrain and the hills so they took it pretty slow. About a third of the way to the beach, Bruno stopped and split us into two groups and then Cesar drove with Andrea. We followed Cesar driving with Alisha and Patrick and we were able to go much faster! The others followed Bruno and were able to go at their speed. It was fun at that point! We got to an overlook of the beach and took pictures and then we drove on the beach. We stopped and took pictures there as well and then we went back the way we came! Overall it was a fun tour but since we’ve ridden ATVs before it’s not very fun to just follow behind people so we probably wouldn’t do it again. Once we got back the driver took us back to our hotels. When we got back we went to eat lunch at the Agave Restaurant. We ordered and while we were sitting there I saw some people pointing out at the ocean and I knew exactly what was happening. So I ran over and there was a freakin whale breaching over and over again!!! It was THE COOLEST. I watched for a while but then our food arrived so I had to eat ha the enchiladas were good! We went back to the room to change into swimsuits and the whale was still breaching so I watched from the balcony. It was seriously so cool. I was dying. And I was so happy that it was happening on my birthday. I had told Jeff when we got here that if I didn’t see a whale breaching from our balcony I wanted a refund. And then it happened!! When it was time, we headed to the spa. We were taken to the locker rooms and we had to separate once we got there. I had the entire locker room to myself! I sat in the dry sauna for a little while and it was really nice. Then I met Jeff at the jacuzzi. Which was also really nice! We also got into the frigid cold bath and it was horrible ha then our massage therapists came and grabbed us and we walked to our massage room. The spa was so cool. It was in basically a cave! Our “room” was like a hut in a cave and the back wall was open so we could see the rocks from the wall of the cave. It was so cool. We laid on the beds and the massage therapists came in and started the massages. It was hilarious because to start the massage, my guy whispered in my ear “I hope you’re comfortable. Enjoy your massage” like RIGHT in my ear haha it scared me. Jeff’s lady did the same thing ha but man that massage was wonderful! I think I fell asleep at one point I was so relaxed. It was awesome. They did aromatherapy as well. After the massage we went and laid by the pool. There was a couple there that was all over each other. The lady was so weird. She was all over him and she put her face in his crotch? It was super weird. I enjoyed observing them haha once the sun went down we went back to our room to change and while I showered Jeff had room service bring a delicious piece of cake to me and it said happy birthday on the plate! It was delicious. Then we went to dinner at the Tortuga Beach Restaurant. My dinner was way good! Chicken breast with mashed potatoes and peanut pesto. Way good. After dinner we went and watched a show with a Michael Jackson impersonator and it was incredibly entertaining! They performed all of his most popular songs and the impersonator was a pretty good dancer! I loved it ha after the show we went back to our room and watched Seventeen Again and went to bed. Overall it was an amazing birthday!
Sunday, March 21
We slept in and went down to the Agave Restaurant and ate a late breakfast. We both got these egg and chorizo burritos that were really good! They came with this retried bean and cheese dip that was super good. After breakfast we left our resort and walked to the swimming beach in town. We can’t swim on the beach outside our hotel. The timeshare lady told us there was a swimming beach to the right of our hotel so that was where we headed first. But when we got there no one was on the beach and it felt weird so we turned around and walked to the other beach we had been told about. On our walk, we got asked seriously hundreds of times if we wanted to buy something. Whether it was a souvenir, a tour, a taxi, cigars, food, or drinks. It was crazy!! The walk was about a mile and a half and we were asked the entire way by tons of different people if we wanted something. It was so obnoxious. When we finally got to the beach we found a spot that wasn’t as busy and laid out our towels and got in the water. We had been dying of heat on the walk so the cold water felt nice and refreshing! After swimming for a little bit we got out and just chilled on our towels. It was really nice. We still were getting random people asking if we wanted to buy something but we just pretended to be asleep and it worked for the most part haha we were only at the beach for a couple of hours. We just aren’t “chill on the beach” kind of people. Which sucks. Haha so we made a bet on how many people would ask us something on the walk back to the hotel. I said 63-88 and he said 155-180. So as we walked we counted each person. But it wasn’t nearly as busy on the walk back haha we also stopped in some shops and bought some souvenirs. We also stopped at a convenience store and got some drinks to try and candy. By the time we were back at the resort we had only been asked something by 45 people. But still! That’s a lot of people haha when we got back we tried to book some activities but the lady wasn’t understanding us so we went straight to the pool. We chilled at the pool and got some daiquiris until the sun was out of sight. Then we went back to the room and changed and went to dinner. We ate at the Agave Restaurant. As we were leaving, fireworks started going off! It was super cool. Then we went back to our room and watched a movie and ordered room service (the nachos were SO GOOD) and went to bed.
Monday, March 22
We had to be up at 7am because we had to walk to the dolphin center for our wave runners tour. It’s just at the entrance to our resort so it wasn’t far. When we got there we checked in and then they had us chill until 8. While we were chilling there was a glass window that looked into the pool where the dolphins were and they kept stopping at the window when they saw us and they would follow our hands and it was hilarious. Dolphins are just the coolest! Once our tour started, we walked as a group to the marina and boarded a boat. We had to wear our masks until we were out of the harbor. The first thing we did was take the boat to the Cabo Arch. We saw tons of seals playing on our way. After we took pictures at the arch we took the boat to where our wave runners were. They were out in the middle of nowhere in the ocean and a guy was just chilling there with them on a floating pad ha once we pulled up we loaded up on the wave runners one by one (or in our case two). We shared a wave runner and I drove first. We saw dolphins while we were out there! He said if they got close enough we could jump in and swim with them. I was all ready for it but they didn’t get close enough. Once we were all loaded up we started driving. It was so bumpy!! The waves were crazy and we were getting soaked. But it was way fun! We drove six miles east and then turned around. At the halfway point, Jeff and I switched and he drove. Being on the back is scary. You feel like you’re going to fall off at any second because of how bumpy it is and there’s basically nothing to hold onto! But it was way fun. Once we got back to the floating pad, we unloaded back into the boat and then went back to the harbor. Then we walked back to the dolphin center and they fed us lunch! Hamburger and fries. It was pretty good!! After we ate we walked back to our resort and went directly to the pool. It felt good to get all of the salt off of us. But it was HOT. We were there around noon and it was a scorcher. So we didn’t last long. We felt like we were getting fried. So we went to our room and took a two hour nap. When we woke up we went back to the pool and sat in the jacuzzi. We talked with a lot of people! We got on the subject of dogs and everyone there was obsessed with dogs! This guy was telling us about a raw diet for dogs. We may try it! Every night he preps a raw chicken quarter, a cucumber, a banana, goats milk, and a brown egg and feeds it to his dogs. That’s so much work haha but he says it helps dog breath and health a ton. We talked to him for a while. The sun was completely down by the time we said our goodbyes. We headed to our room, changed, and then went to dinner at Tortuga Beach Restaurant. I got the chicken again but it’s so good! Also there’s not much else to try for a non-seafood lover like myself. There were fireworks during dinner again! Also we may or may not have had six drinks that contained some form of alcohol in them and so after dinner we felt kinda tipsy. Like things were moving in slow motion. It was crazy ha so we went back to our room and watched Red Dawn and then went to bed.
Tuesday, March 23
We slept in because we had no plans for the day. When we woke up we ordered room service and got some fruit, eggs, pancakes, and breakfast burritos. It was all really good. After we ate we changed into swimsuits and went to lay on hammocks on the beach. We read for a while but it was super windy so we packed up and went to the pool. When we got to the pool the entertainment staff was setting up for bingo so we each got a card and sat in the jacuzzi and played. We talked to a niece and uncle from Detroit. He’s a cop there and he said he has some crazy stories! His niece was all over the place ha she was fairly drunk. Jeff won four corners bingo! He won a “free” charm bracelet ha after bingo we went to our room and changed and went to the Agave Restaurant to eat. While we were there a girl was WASTED in the pool. Security came and tried to get her out of the pool and she refused. She kept pulling the dead fish move so they couldn’t get her out. Eventually her friends got her out and took her to the bathroom and she kept hitting all of her friends and screaming in the bathroom. Finally she came out of the bathroom and they put her in a wheelchair and wheeled her to her room. She was completely embarrassing the people she was with. This lady was pissed about it ha she complained to anyone that would listen haha after lunch we went to the whale watching bar and played pool. I beat Jeff on him giving me pity hits but still. I won. Haha then we looked for whales for a bit and went to our room. We chilled and watched TV for a bit and then we went to the cupcake shop and got an Oreo cupcake, a red velvet cupcake, a brownie, and some chocolate mousse. The Oreo and red velvet cupcakes were SO GOOD. We ate them in our room and watched Orange is the New Black and then went to bed.
Wednesday, March 24
We slept in and then ordered room service and ate while watching Orange is the New Black. Then we went down to the pool and sat in the jacuzzi. We also tested Norma on if she actually knew us! Norma is the lady that works the pool and takes drink orders and we ordered drinks at our chairs and then went across the pool and got in the jacuzzi and she STILL found us! She’s the best. In the jacuzzi we met a couple from Texas. The girl was actually from the Philippines so she told us all about visiting there! Then we got distracted because the entertainment staff started doing a dance lesson and this old lady was a part of it and it was very entertaining to watch. Then they played Pictionary and that was enjoyable to watch too! After Pictionary we went and laid out for a while and then we got into the jacuzzi again (the pool was cold and the wind was blowing ha) and we met a couple from Alabama. They had actually been to Utah a couple times and they loved it! Which is surprising. Not many people have visited Utah ha a guy came up and tried to get all of us to take a shot but we got out of it luckily and went back to our chairs and laid out again. When we were bored we went back to our room, ordered room service, showered and chilled. We both ordered the green salad with ranch and they put basically anything green in it haha lettuce, pickles, green apples, cucumbers haha then we went to the White Party thrown by the resort. Everyone had to wear white and there was dinner and a show. The show was pretty cool! They were trapeze dancers and they danced with fire. It was very entertaining! Then we went back to our room and watched Orange is the New Black and Modern Family and went to bed.
Thursday, March 25
We had to be at the Dolphin Center by 9:20am so we went to get breakfast at Don Diego prior to walking down. Once we got to the Dolphin Center we checked in and they had us chill outside in their eating area until 10am. A lady came over and told us what was going to happen next and she told me to remove all jewelry. I told her that my bracelets don’t really come off but she said to remove them anyway. So Jeff and I spent like 20 minutes taking all of my bracelets off ha my wrists haven’t seen the light of day since we got married. So they are verrrrrry white. Surprisingly we were able to get most of my bracelets off except for two. They had been tied on by the vendor I got them from and then he burned the edges so they melted together. So I just left those two on and our tour guide, Pow, came and got us. We got our assistant trainer shirts! Jeff had to get an XL because they only had small and XL and it was huge on him haha they also told us we weren’t allowed to wear sunscreen at all. We were in a group with two kids from California, Dawson and Felicia. The first thing we did was walk up to the pool and get a life jacket on and get in. A family joined us for this part because they only paid for 20 minutes with the dolphins. They didn’t put us in wetsuits because apparently we looked like we could handle the cold or something haha anyway for the first session in the pool we got to dance with the dolphin, pet it, get a kiss, get a hug, and see the dolphin jump. Her name was Nowi and she was four months pregnant! She was beautiful. We also got to swim belly to belly with her. It was so fun! Then we parted ways from the family and Pow took us “backstage” to the offices. We were doing Trainer for a Day so we were able to experience more. We went to the offices and Pow taught us about the anatomy of the dolphins and how they are in the wild. Apparently they are bullies. They will kill certain fish just to experience a form of getting high and they attack sea lions for no reason. We also watched some videos about how the Dolphin Center helps save injured animals. They are doing amazing things! Pow is also a vet at the Dolphin Center. So she knows a lot of things about dolphins. You can tell she is very passionate about her job. After we spent time learning about dolphins, we got to get in the pool with them again. We got wetsuits this time ha during this session we re-did everything from the first session and we also got to learn some of the motions to tell the dolphin to do certain things. We also got to swim underwater with Nowi! We grabbed her fins and she just swam underwater with us attached. It was AMAZING. We got to do it twice. After this session we got to eat lunch. They gave us burgers and fries :) after eating I tried to stay out of the sun because I fry so easily ha once we were done eating Pow came and grabbed us and we got one more session in the pool with the dolphins. Except this time we got to actually assist the trainers with tour groups!! It was seriously the coolest thing. My trainer (I can’t remember his name) was awesome and basically let me run the session. Which was very intimidating because I knew basically nothing. First I had to grab a Fanny pack and fill it full of fish. Once I did that we went to where our group was and the trainer would tell me what we were doing first and show me the motion to make and then I would do it in front of the group. It was crazy how easily the dolphin listened to me. I would hold his attention and show him some love while the trainer would talk to the group. I was in a Spanish speaking group so I couldn’t communicate with them haha Pow taught us that the dolphin feeds off of your energy. If you are happy and energetic, they are. I loved getting a glimpse into the life of a dolphin trainer. After the session was over, we met back up with Pow and got to say our goodbyes to Nowi. It was such a cool experience. We went and purchased our photos from the day (which were not cheap at all) and then we walked back to the hotel. We went directly to the pool and hung out there until we were hungry and then we went to dinner at Tortuga Beach. After dinner we went back to our room and watched TV until we went to bed. I got FRIED from the day. Especially where my bracelets were haha
Friday, March 26
We had to meet at the Dolphin Center at 7:20am for our Whale Shark encounter and they were going to feed us a light breakfast so we woke up and went straight down there. Once we checked in, we had to wait around until 8am. Oliver, our tour guide, gathered all of us at 8am and we loaded up onto a bus. On our walk to the bus there was a girl in front of us and Jeff said that he was 80% sure it was a girl he worked with. When we got on the bus, Oliver asked us all where we were from and we said Utah and so did the group with the girl that Jeff thought he knew. So we turned around and it actually was the girl he worked with! Megan Heaps. She was there with some family and friends. We talked for a bit to them and then they brought around our light breakfast. We had a two hour drive to La Paz which was where our tour would take place so I ate half of my sandwich and then fell asleep on Jeff’s shoulder. We did a pit stop at a gas station and I got out and bought some Dramamine because I was nervous I was going to get seasick. When we were back on the road, Oliver split us all into smaller groups and told us who our guide would be for the actual whale shark encounter. He said we needed to get off of the bus quickly, find our guide, and hop in a boat with them so we could go to the check out point. Your whole group has to physically go to the check out point so they can see everyone is ready before they allow you to go to where the whale sharks are. So we hopped out and found Joe and got in the boat. We were in a group with three other people that were traveling together and they were very unpleasant. They didn’t want to engage with us at all and they made sure we knew that. So we just sat over on our own talking to Joe. Joe said that this year the number of whale sharks is down a ton. He wasn’t sure why but he talked about their migratory patterns and how orcas prey on them during migration. To “check in” all we had to do was basically do a drive by so they could see we were all there and then they added us to the waiting list. Joe said it would be about an hour and a half until we would be able to go. So one of the girls in our group whined and said she really wanted to buy a whale shark shirt. Joe said she may be able to buy one after we go but she complained about how much time we had until we went so once we got back to shore, Joe told the other guides and all of us had to go downtown. So we all went (there was like 20 of us in the group) and we walked around for an hour and then met back at the bus. Jeff and I found some bracelets that we liked but otherwise we just walked around. We saw a bunch of dogs and so we hung around them for a little bit. One of them was missing an eye :( it was horrible. Once we were back at the bus, I finished my sandwich because I was starving and we went back to the boats. We sat and waited at this restaurant and got ready for when they would give us the green light. We got our wetsuits and flippers and applied biodegradable sunscreen. Once the guides got the call, their boat would leave. Our boat was the last one to go. Once on the boat, we got the wetsuits and flippers on and Joe explained what we would be doing. He said that the captain would know where to drop us and when he said jump we would have to jump out of the boat and start swimming in the direction he motioned. Once the whale shark got to where you were you’d have to start paddling and basically get caught in his draft. If you got too far behind and you were by the tail, you’d be out of the draft and it would be hard to get back. Jeff and I were stressed about this process haha I’m not a great swimmer and it was hard to know what to expect. But we just kept driving looking for whale sharks. It was a long time before we found one. When we did find one, all of the sudden it was go time ha the other three happened to be sitting on the side that jumped in first so they hopped up on the side of the boat and when the captain said the word they jumped in. He drove us to a further location and said jump. So we jumped in and I was very turned around. The captain was yelling to us to make us swim the other direction and I was kinda panicked that the whale shark would all of the sudden run into me or something. But then I saw it. The water was pretty murky so it was hard to see but it was about ten feet below the surface. So I started swimming with it and I only made it like five feet until I lost it in the murkiness. So I swam back to the boat. Jeff never saw it on that round. So we all loaded back in the boat and we were about to try again but then a boat called our captain and said they found a bigger one that was closer to the surface. So we headed that direction. They let us jump first this time. Joe jumped with us as well and he directed us. The whale shark appeared out of nowhere. It was crazy close!! It had all of these yellow fish on its fins just caught in his draft. So we started swimming with him. And we actually swam quite a bit with him! It was incredible. He was just minding his own business swimming along. Paying zero attention to us. We were so close we could’ve touched him. I was exhausted haha luckily right when I started getting really tired, Joe grabbed us and said there was another boat waiting to swim so we got back in our boat and we just frog jumped with this other boat on who got to swim with the whale shark. On the next jump, the other three went first and right when we jumped in, one of the girls kicked me in the face and it threw me off so I was never able to keep up. So I hopped back in the boat. For the next jump, Joe had just me and Jeff jump. It was incredible to get the whale shark all to ourselves. We swam with him for a while and then Joe pulled us to the side. That was our final jump and it was awesome! The three others got one more jump and then we headed back to shore. There were a bunch of cruise ships in the water and Joe told us they are kept there until cruises are up and running again. COVID ruined a lot for people in Mexico. Joe was telling us that they had to furlough 300 people from his tour company. They also lowered his pay to only 30% of what he was supposed to be making. Once we got back to shore, we went to the bus and grabbed our change of clothes and went to the bathroom to change. I put my sunglasses on the counter of the bathroom while I changed and by the time I was done, they were gone. One of the girls from our group had been by the sink when I went in and then when I came out another woman that didn’t speak English was at the sink. So I don’t know if one of them took my sunglasses but I was so bugged! I went out and told Jeff and I also told Oliver. He went and asked the restaurant if they had been turned in but they hadn’t. I guess that’s why I buy cheap sunglasses. Anyway, they fed us tacos and they were delicious! They had a mariachi band playing while we ate and it was very enjoyable. After we were all done eating we loaded back onto the bus and headed back to Los Cabos. We talked a little to Megan and her group on the way back. I told her about my sunglasses and she actually gave me one of her pairs and said I could keep them! Super nice. We watched the sunset on the drive back. When we got back to the Dolphin Center, we walked back to our hotel. When we got back we ordered room service and ate while watching TV. Then we went to bed!
Saturday, March 27
We slept in hard. Then we went to Don Diego’s for breakfast and we got a table on the balcony. The view was beautiful! And the weather was perfect. After breakfast we went down to the pool and played corn hole before getting in. Jeff beat me twice unfortunately and then we were so hot we went directly to the water. We swam around for a while and then got in the jacuzzi that was like bath water. We ordered nachos and ate those poolside. It was seriously great. We were living the life. Norma remembered that Jeff likes lemonade mixed with sprite! She’s amazing. I had like four drinks by the pool so I was feeling fairly tipsy. We had a conversation with a couple from Park City and then we went to our room. We went to dinner at Agave and I had two more drinks. So that night was decently fuzzy... after dinner we went to our room and watched TV and went to bed.
Sunday, March 28
We slept in and then ordered room service and ate on the balcony. It was really nice! Then we got ready and went to the spa. When we got there I sat in the dry sauna for ten minutes and then I met Jeff at the jacuzzi and I had barely gotten there when our massage therapists came to get us. My massage therapist had us get in the freezing pool and completely submerge ourselves. Then he took us back to the room. It was FRIGID haha when we got to the room we were supposed to completely undress and get in the bed and as I was hanging my swimsuit my earring fell out and I found it but as I bent over, the curtain got stuck in between my butt cheeks hahaha it was hilarious. Then we got in the beds and we got a deep tissue massage for 50 minutes. It was so nice and relaxing! After the massages we sat in the jacuzzi for a little while and then I went and sat in the wet sauna for a little bit. Then we left and went to the pool. Once we got to the pool they were playing bingo! This lady sitting in front of us won three of the four rounds. It was crazy. Frankie (the guy calling out the numbers) got to a point for blackout where he called all of the numbers but no one had won haha three of the numbers on my board hadn’t been called at all ha after bingo, we just made up games in the pool ha we did flips and swam between each other’s legs and had contests holding our breath ha people probably thought we were acting like children. Then we sat in the jacuzzi until dinner. We ate at Tortuga Beach and then we went to the Back to the 90’s show at the stage. It was so cheesy. They played music mostly from the 90’s but then random songs from the 2000’s and the 80’s ha the dancing was very cheesy. But we watched the entire show and we knew every song so there ya go ha after the show we went back to our room and went to bed.

We had to get up and go to the kids club to get our COVID test done so we went and they shoved a Q-tip super far up our noses that it made me have tears come out of my eyes and then went to Don Diego for breakfast. We ate on the balcony again and the lady that always takes us to our table at Tortuga was working there! Her name was Nancy and we loved her. She remembered our name! We’ll miss her. And we’ll miss Norma from the pool! After breakfast we went and played corn hole again (Jeff won ultimately but I did win 2 of 5) haha and then we went to the pool. We played some more made up pool games and then we got in the jacuzzi while they played music trivia. They would play part of a song and we had to raise our hand and yell chimichanga and then say the title of the song. I got one point ha I knew I Want it That Way by the Backstreet Boys haha but there was this guy that knew like every single song! We sat and talked to a couple from Chicago for a while and then we ate nachos by the pool again. I loved that. They were so good! Then we got back in the pool and then the jacuzzi until we left for dinner. When we were in the jacuzzi we played this game that Jeff called the Ring of Death that was weirdly so fun. We would throw Jeff’s silicone ring between us in the water and the first one to get it on their pointer finger got a point. First one to 11 wins haha I won 3 of the 5 games :) anyway while we were getting ready for dinner we got the results of our tests and they were negative! We ate at Tortuga Beach and Nancy was there. We told her it was our last night so she took us to a table on the beach under the string lights. It was beautiful! She also brought us a surprise dessert! She was the best. After dinner we packed up our stuff and then watched TV and went to bed.
Tuesday, March 30
We got up at 8:30am and called room service. We ate on the balcony for our last morning and then we packed up everything and headed to the lobby. Our ride was already there so we checked out quickly and then loaded up. After the forty minute drive we went to check our bags and there were so many different things we had to do. We had to fill out a questionnaire through Delta and then we had to scan a QR code and upload our test results and then we had to go online and fill out another questionnaire for the airport ha but we finally got our bags checked and then we got through customs and we just chilled by our gate. We were flying to Atlanta for our layover. We took a bus to the plane. We actually got to board with the diamond status peeps this time! I watched Just Mercy on the flight and cried like a baby. Everyone should watch that movie. Also when our flight took off Jeff’s phone fell out of his pocket and slid the entire way down the center of the aisle all of the way to the back of the plane. The flight attendant brought it back hahaha When we got to Atlanta we had to go through customs again and it was fairly efficient! Then we had to re-check our bags and go through security again. Once we were through we went to the Sky Club near our gate. The people that work in there were so incredibly nice. There was pretty decent food too! We watched one of the Elite 8 March Madness games (Gonzaga vs USC) and Gonzaga won. Right when the game ended we had to go to our gate. At the gate we boarded last again since we actually got upgraded to first class! On the flight I watched The Lovebirds and Palm Springs and The Office. It felt like a really long flight. We landed at midnight and my dad picked us up and we drove back to Logan. Really long day. But overall super relaxing trip and it was much needed! Especially since the miscarriage. It was nice to be with Jeff :)
